Tanmay Parashar is a Toronto-based contemporary artist whose dynamic abstract paintings are driven by a lifelong passion for colour. Self-taught and deeply intuitive, Parashar’s work explores emotional resonance through the interplay of hue, form, and repetition. His signature process—applying thousands of individual dabs of paint using the edge of a credit card—results in intricate, rhythmic compositions that vibrate with controlled energy and chromatic harmony.
Parashar’s palette is bold yet refined, balancing chaos and order, movement and stillness. Often featuring up to 60,000 meticulously placed marks, his works invite close inspection while delivering a powerful visual impact from afar. Inspired by both the sensory joy of colour and the nuanced beauty of cultural diversity, his paintings echo music in their ability to stir emotion and create immersive, uplifting experiences.
Tanmay’s recent exhibitions include The Artist Project (Toronto, 2022–2024), The Other Art Fair (Los Angeles, 2024), and One of a Kind Spring Show (Toronto, 2023). His works are held in private collections across North America and internationally.
