Spatial Rhythms
The Full Story
White Galleon Art Gallery is proud to present Spatial Rhythms, a solo exhibition of work by Niagara-based artist Allan Lorne Hecker. Running from September 6 to 27, 2025, the exhibition invites viewers into a contemplative landscape of geometric abstraction, where structure, surface, and colour converge in striking harmony. A special early viewing will be held on Friday, September 5.

Hecker, a self-taught artist born in Buffalo, NY in 1963, creates visually refined works that explore the intersection of order and expression. Influenced by Bauhaus sensibilities, his practice reflects a lifelong fascination with form, mathematics, and design. Working primarily within a restrained, often monochromatic palette—with unexpected flashes of brilliant colour—Hecker's work offers a meditative study in rhythm, balance, and spatial tension.

Each composition is meticulously constructed, layering texture, shape, and tonal variation to evoke a sense of stillness and psychological depth. Whether interpreted as abstracted architecture, minimal landscapes, or symbolic fields, Hecker's paintings ask the viewer to slow down and observe—the surface, the space, and the silence in between.

"His work balances geometric precision with organic nuance—evoking structure that feels at once architectural and emotive."
