This photograph was taken while sailing around the Galapagos Islands, where an abundance of seabirds added to the dynamic landscape. Among them, the Magnificent Frigatebird stood out, performing elaborate mating displays. In motion, the bird blended into the volcanic backdrop of the islands, making it a challenge to isolate visually. This image represents an experiment in panning technique—capturing the energy of movement while drawing focus to the striking red gular pouch used to attract a mate.
